Following several successful experiments in editorial and newsroom management, JoongAng Ilbo initiated South Korea's first major Sunday newspaper March 18, 2007. JoongAng Ilbo pioneered the use of horizontal copy layout, topical sections and specialist reporters with investigative reporting teams in Korea. Since April 15, 1995, JoongAng Ilbo has been laid out horizontally.
