Price hike barely dents Sun's sales

An increase in pricing from 15p to 20p that began last month hasn't had much effect on sales of the Sun in Scotland, according to the newspaper's latest circulation figures.

The Sun sold an average of 397,509 copies each day in July, just under June's 398,114 a day, according to the ABCs, AllMediaScotland reported in a Tuesday article.

Scotland's highest-selling newspaper in Scotland remained the Sunday Mail, with 454,865 in July, down from June's 462,304. Scotland on Sunday lost the most sales, from 68,721 in June to 60,500 in July, according to AllMediaScotland.

While the Sun's numbers are down month-on-month, the total figure for this year is up from last year by 3,556 copies, or .9 percent.
