Canadian Internet development used to be somewhat inactive, but not anymore.
According to eMarketer's new report “Canada Online Overview,” 21 million Canadians were online in 2006, with a growth of one million users compared with the year 2005.
In another report from comScore, in 2007 Canada was ranked as the ninth largest online population in the world, growing at double digits.
In terms of online penetration, Canada's (65.3 percent) is roughly the same as in the United States (65.2 percent), and is predicted to exceed the U.S. penetration around 2010.
By the year of 2011, eMarketer expects the Canadian online penetration increase to 71.9 percent, and 24.8 million Internet users in total.
