Nokia has launched its second Vernacular news portal in India, in association with one of the country's foremost media groups, Bhaskar Group.
The news portal will be accessible anywhere, and available in four languages: Hindi, Malayalam, Gujarati and English.
Nokia aims to give newspapers written in the country's local languages a farther reach, to users across India. In the future, the company plans to partner with more media groups, adding languages on the news portal and reaching even more people.
The new application “will allow consumers to view news updates in their native languages at their convenience, adding a new dimension to mobility,” Devinder Kishore, Nokia's marketing director, is quoted as saying in a MoneyControl article.
