Telegraph launches video news service

In a departure from video news clips only, the Telegraph has launched a new on-demand video news service that provides a seven minute bulletin of stories that can be viewed as separate clips or all together.

Telegraph News Now features the newspaper's reporters in video content, produced in partnership with ITN, that is updated throughout the day.

The new service will combine “news with views,” Edward Roussel, the Telegraph's digital editor, told MediaGuardian.

“We haven't had a continuous news programme before and now we will be able to continuously update the news agenda, our news agenda that reflects our news judgement,” he said.

For example, the on-demand service will give viewers a chance to view the newspaper's arts editor Sarah Compton explain an art exhibition or get city editor Damian Reece's perspective on the mortgage market, Roussel said.
