Making progress in digital acquisition, WPP has acquired Los Angeles-based interactive agency Schematic. The amount of the deal is undisclosed.
Schematic, led by Trevor Kaufman, has an impressive client list across a range of digital media. It developed CNN's Pipeline video player, the newly designed ITV.com and the all-important development of its ad-funded media player. Schematic generated annual revenue of $29.6 million as of March.
WPP has been aggressive in the digital market since it acquired MySpace's China investor China Broadband Capital Partners, Pennsylvania-based digital agency Refinery and ad network 24/7 RealMedia. It also has investments in VideoEgg.
WPP just posted a 10 percent digital revenues increase for the first half in August. The CEO stated his desire to see that 25 percent of WPP revenue comes from digital within five years, PaidContent reports.
