U.S. magazine launches 'best of' Web site

U.S. News & World Reported is launching a “best of” Web site, which will rank many products, beginning with cars and trucks last week, Media Post reported Monday.

Could this be an online idea newspapers should take note of?

RankingsAndReviews.com currently only ranks automobiles, and will likely grow to include packaged goods and consumer electronics, Media Post reported.

The new Web site will rank items using the same methodology it uses for existing reports, including its well-known annual report America's Best Colleges. The site will review a collection of statistical data, professional and journalistic opinions, and then issue a single numerical grade between one and 10.
