Corelio strengthens Belgian market reach

Belgian publisher Corelio increased its market share reach in the country to 32.3 percent in 2007, and globally sold 451,592 copies daily, according to CIM, the Belgian Audit Bureau of Circulation.

Corelio's De Standaard saw the biggest circulation increase of all Belgian newspapers, up 4.1 percent.

In the Flemish language sector, newspapers saw a 1.1 percent decrease globally, but Corelio's papers saw positive numbers, especially in the last quarter. Only Het Nieuwsblad saw increases, up 1.3 percent. Het Volk was down six percent, but the combined package of Het Volk and Het Nieuwsbald managed to sell 2,830 more copies than its nearest competitor, the Corelio stated in an announcement on Publicitas.

In Belgium's French speaking region, Editions de L'Avenir decreased its market share from 20.8 percent to 20.4 percent, selling 93,856 copies per day.
