Trinity Mirror launches free weekly

Trinity Mirror has launched a new free weekly newspaper, to be delivered to and around 10,000 homes in Daventry, England, and surrounding villages, Holdthefrontpage reported Friday.

The Daventry Post will be delivered every Thursday, and compete with the Johnston Press title Daventry Express.

The first edition was delivered Thursday, and had 92 pages, including a 28 page property section, Holdthefrontpage reported.

Trinity Mirror has launched new weeklies in Kenilworth, Warwick, Leamington and Rugby, as well as relaunching a free weekly in Coventry, The Coventry Times.

“Daventry sits geographically between Rugby and Northampton where we already publish thriving local free weeklies,” Tony Lennox, editorial director of Trinity Mirror Midlands, told Holdthefrontpage. “It was a logical decision to fill that gap with a new newspaper.”
