More than 75 percent of adults in Canada read print or online newspapers, the Newspaper Audience Databank announced, Editor & Publisher reported Wednesday.

Online readership in Canada has grown 11 percent since 2006, with 17 percent of adults reading a newspaper online every week in 2007.

The NADbank, Canada's version of the Audit Bureau of Circulations, also stated that 13.9 million adults read a newspaper's printed edition each week in 2007, according to E&P.

The combined print and online readership totals add up to 78 percent of the country's adults reading the newspaper each week.

The NADbank measures readership for 82 dailies in Canada, and two dailies in Detroit, Michigan, in 54 markets across Canada, according to E&P.
