Yeni Azerbaijan's new editor to institute reforms

The Yeni Azerbaijan Party's newspaper will complete a range of reforms, aimed at increasing the newspaper's quality, the paper's editor-in-chief told Trend News in an article Tuesday.

Hikmat Babaoglu (Mammadov), however, did not specify what the changes for the ruling party's newspaper, Yeni Azerbaijan, will be. Mammadov was appointed editor last week.

Mammadov was appointed editor last week, according to Trend News.

Previously, Mammadov was an instructor at the Ideology Department of the party's Central Office, and before that a spokesman for the State Committee of Land and Cartography, Azeri Press Agency reported.

The previous editor, Algish Musayev (Hasanoglu), was dismissed late last month because board members “were not satisfied with the activity” of Musayev, although nothing specific was reported. He had been editor-in-chief for 10 years, according to a separate report by Azeri Press Agency.
