Baltimore launches another free daily

Baltimore will launch a second free daily called 'b' Monday, according to Newspaper Innovation.

The free daily is published by Baltimore Sun and will have an initial circulation of 50,000. The Circulation is predicted to increase 75,000 in September, and possibly reach 100,000 by the end of the year, Newspaper Innovation reported.

In the free daily 'b', a section will be dedicated, every day, to a specific theme, for example; money health, home decoration, music and movies. The paper will also include user-generated content as well as information from RedEye, a Chicago free daily.

A website for 'b' has already been created, bthesite.com, it is equipped with a 'media kit' area withholding information on target group, distribution and content, Newspaper Innovation reported Monday.

The paper is going to be accessible at 2,500 distribution points.

The Examiner, a free daily in Baltimore, has a circulation of 250,000 whereas the Baltimore Sun has a circulation of 230,000.
