A new free daily was just launched on May 15 in the North-Western Austrian town, Innsbruck.
The new publication, TT Kompakt, has a circulation of 10,000. It is published by Moser Holding, along with Tiroloer Trageszeitung and the Neue Zeitug fur Tirol, Newspaper Innovation reported Monday.
The paper is distributed in train stations and office buildings.
With TT Kompakt, the paper is trying to be close to Tiroler Tageszeitung, the leading paid paper. A new online platform TT.com has been launched as well, according to Newspaper Innovation.
In 2006 and 2007 Moser has already launched a free daily, the Neue Express, in the same area. It has a circulation of 10,000 as well. However, the paper closed after little more than one year.
