A report on media ownership and news plurality will be published by the House of Lords communications committee in England next Friday, June 27, Media Guardian reported Thursday.
The committee's chairman is Lord Fowler, who once was a journalist at the Times.
More than 109 witnesses have given evidence to the committee, including Rupert Murdoch; Trinity Mirror Chief Executive Sly Bailey; Sun Editor Rebekah Wade; David Montgomery, head of Mecom; and Viscount Rothermere, chairman of the Daily Mail & General Trust.
The committee is looking at how news is gathered as newspaper circulation falls and TV news audiences decrease, as well as the effect of ownership on how news is provided, Media Guardian reported.
