Central Counties Newspapers, part of UK local newspaper publisher Johnston Press, may seek voluntary redundancies for 34 jobs at its Midlands newspapers, HoldtheFrontPage reported Thursday.
The company will “reorganise some of its editorial, sales and administrative duties at some of its centres,” CCN stated.
Employees of the Aylesbury-based company have been informed, and are being consulted with, the company said in a statement, HoldtheFrontPage reported.
The proposals are “part of the company's continual review of business efficiency,” Keith Ridley, managing director of CCN said, according to HoldtheFrontPage. “In the event they go ahead, we will try to minimise the impact through voluntary redundancy and redeployment to alternative positions.”
CCN publishes 18 weekly newspapers, including the Bucks Herald and Banbury Guardian, as well as seven Web sites.
