During the year ending in March 2008, Economist.com reported three million unique users, up 39 percent over the previous year, and 199 million page views, according to paidContent.
The overall annual revenue of the company was £266.4 million, up eight percent and leading to 23 percent better profit of £44.3 million.
Its digital revenue now makes up 17 percent share of its total, and the focus is now on CFO.com, the U.S. site targeting financial executives, paidContent reported.
Although the industry has been damaged by the economic downturn, “The Economist Group is well-positioned to outperform the market despite the weak dollar, advertising shift to online and the uncertain economic outlook,” the group stated, according to paidContent.
