Adobe Systems deals with Google, Yahoo! to improve dynamic content search

Adobe Systems is working with Google and Yahoo! to improve their search engines by offering technology that will detect Flash Player content previously “invisible” to searches, CNet reported.

This may be an interesting opportunity for search engine companies, since their advertising may get a boost.

Both Google and Yahoo! were given Adobe Flash Player technology that will improve the way that they index media content and applications like the Flash file format and Shockwave Flash, according to CNet.

Currently, only static text and Shockwave Flash file links are able to be indexed by search engines. Flash media content is unable to be detected by search engines because they frequently change, according to CNet.

Multi-functional Internet resources (RIAs) that already use Flash technology can be searched without being altered by developers or firms.

Google already added the enhanced Adobe Flash Player technology to its search engine, whereas Yahoo! intends to do it in the future.

Adobe intended to have a deal with Microsoft, provided the same technology for Microsoft's Live Search. However, after fruitless discussions, the deal was put off, Kommentator.ru reported. Microsoft's answer to Flash and AIR is its own Silverlight technology.
