Seven Network on Thursday bought four million West Australian Newspapers (WAN) shares, moving closer to owning a newspaper, SmartHouse reported.
Seven paid AU$10.25 per share, costing about $41 million.
Over the past year, Seven has bought shares in both the West Australian newspaper and WAN. It now has a 22.3 percent stake in WAN according to SmartHouse.
The network is looking to “refresh the WAN Board to improve the performance of the company,” according to Australian-Media.
