Newspaper prices skyrocket in Zimbabwe

Escalating production costs and inflation have forced Zimbabwe newspapers and magazines to raise cover prices yet again, the Chronicle reported Friday.

People who have newspaper or magazine subscriptions, will have to top-up their pre-paid payments.

According to the Chronicle, new cover prices for newspapers and magazines are:

The Herald: $100 billion Zimbabwean dollars The Chronicle: $100 billion The Sunday Mail: $150 billion Sunday News: $150 billion Manica Post: $150 billion Kwayedza: $75 billion uMthunywa: $75 billion New Farmer: $200 billion Trends: $200 billion Zimbabwean Travel: $200 billion The Southern Times: $100 billion

Last week, The Herald was selling for $8 billion, up from a previous price of $200 million, while the Sunday Mail increased its cover prices from $300 million to $10 billion.
