Regional UK publisher Johnston Press will serve international advertising on its network of local and regional news sites, Journalism.co.uk reported Friday.
Users accessing the network of 322 sites from outside the United Kingdom and Ireland will see ads relevant to their locations.
Johnson Press made the deal with digital advertising firm AdGent007, which will be in charge of the ads. AdGent 007 also handles the Telegraph's international ad inventory, Journalism.co.uk reported.
Scotsman.com is one of the group's Web sites that is most frequented by overseas visitors.
“As Scotland's most visited newspaper website, Scotsman.com has a strong element of international visits and this agreement will enable us to deliver more targeted advertising and further enhance revenues from this traffic,” Henry Faure Walker, general manager of The Scotsman Publications Ltd., said in a press release.
