Free daily MediaMatinQuébec, published by Le Journal de Québec, released its last issue on Friday, Newspaper Innovation reported

According to a final agreement reached on August 7 between the Canadian journalists trade union and publisher Quebecor, the locked-out workers of Le Journal de Quebec would return to their jobs on August 18, and the free daily would close down on August 8.

The last issue and previous ones can be downloaded from MediaMatin's Web site, Newspaper Innovation reported.

The paper's circulation was about 40,000.
