The Firefox browser is not planned for release on iPods and iPhones, John Lilly, CEO of Mozilla Corporation announced last week, CyberSecurity.ru reported.
“Apple makes it too hard. They say it's because of technical issues — they don't want outsiders to disrupt the user experience. That's a business argument masquerading as a technological argument,” said Lilly.
ZDNet blogger Adrian Kingsley-Hughes pointed out that Apple has “unrealistic aspirations” for its Safari browser.
Mozilla will instead focus on other mobile platforms, such as LiMo (Linux on Mobile), Lilly said.
In addition, the Firefox browser will be offered on a number of other mobile platforms, CyberSecurity.ru reported.
