The International Herald Tribune (IHT) and The New York Times, owned by The New York Times Media Group, have a European audience of around 1.3 million, according to a study conducted on the readership of daily, weekly and fortnightly titles. The IHT is the most read paid paper in Europe, Gipp.ru reported Thursday.
In Moscow, the IHT is published and distributed by The Moscow Times. The quantity of content written for IHT by MT correspondents has recently increased, which may mean that there is a rising global interest in news about and from Russia, according to Gipp.ru.
The partnership between the two papers is evolving to include an exchange of information and progress in both publications, in Russia and abroad, Gipp.ru reported.
"These excellent results demonstrate the wide influence and huge popularity of The New York Times's international publications and reinforce their growing importance in the global media marketplace,” said Brian Shields, the IHT's worldwide research and analytics director.
