Telecom services revenue in Europe are expected to increase from €50.1 per inhabitant per month in 2005 to €52.6 in 2010, according to Exane BNP Paribas.
Revenues generated from voice services, including fixed and mobile, are both in decline. Fixed voice, which brought in €16.1 in 2005, is expected to drop €5.8 to €9.1 per month in 2010. Mobile voice is also dropping, but at a much slower rate, from €23.5 in 2005 to €22.4 in 2010, the group predicts.
On the other hand, revenues generated from data are rising, according to Exane BNP Paribas.
In 2005, fixed data and mobile data each only contributed less than €6 per month. However, in 2010, fixed data revenue per month will boost to €12.3, while mobile data will increase to €8.9, according to Exane BNP Paribas data, reported in the World Digital Media Trends 2008 report, released by the World Association of Newspapers.
