Frees win in Swiss readership

Frees win in Swiss readership

Free title 20 Minuten again wins the most-read Swiss newspaper, according to the MACH Basic readership survey, Newspaper Innovation reported.

With about 1.3 million daily readers, 20 Minuten now reaches twice as many as the former leader paid paper Blick. Both papers had only around 750,000 readers each four years ago.

Free daily Heute has its readership up to almost 300,000.

Free business daily Cash has 85,000 readers, up from 73,000 half a year ago. All other paid titles lost readers compared to the previous survey in March.

In the French speaking regions, free dailies 20 Minutes and Le Matin bleu both have their readership up, while all paid papers except Le Temps lost readers, according to Newspaper Innovation.
