Russia business daily launches news alerts

Russian business daily Vedomosti announced that its site would now offer news alerts to users, who may pick the content they wish to receive in their e-mail boxes based on keywords, authors or sections in the paper.

Gipp.ru reported that the new service may be advantageous to firms who wish to keep a track of stories regarding their respective organisation or that of their competitors.

Currently, only registered users may subscribe to the alerts, according to gipp.ru.

Vedomosti was started as a collaboration between the Financial Times (FT) and the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) less than a decade ago. Since 1999, the title has been published by Independent Media.

Material is provided by Russian journalists, as well as the FT's and WSJ's global network of reporters, according to vedomosti.ru.
