Plastic Logic's e-newspaper will be released in the first half of 2009, and will use a black and white display created by E Ink, the San Jose Mercury News reported Friday.
The still unnamed device was unveiled this month in San Diego, and boasts a screen twice the size of Sony's eReader or Amazon's Kindle, which can be updated constantly.
The e-newspaper can also store hundreds of pages of documents, whether they be newspapers or books, according to the San Jose Mercury News. Plastic Logic will give pricing information in January at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
In the next few years, the e-newspaper will look to build technology for interactive advertising and moving images, Sriram Peruvemba, vice president of marketing for E Ink told the San Jose Mercury News. "By 2010, we will have a production version of a display that offers newspaperlike colour."
