Hartlepool Mail introduces delivery services after post offices close

After the Hart post offices in Northeast England were closed in July, Hartlepool Mail stepped in to help deliver local news, HoldtheFrontPage.co.uk reported Wednesday.

The newspaper will now be delivered to St. Mary Magdalene church, after a plea from Rev Janet Burbury and Rev John Lund that the villagers were lacking newspapers.

"The prayers and villagers can now pick up their favourite read at their local church,” according to the Mail.

According to Mail editor Joy Yates, “The loss of the three post offices throughout town was a blow to residents. The opening of the church for people to get their newspapers is a great idea and for us to be able to help is just fantastic,” HoldtheFrontPage.co.uk reported.
