Google: Britain's top online video destination

In the United Kingdom, 27.4 million people watched more than three billion videos online in June 2008, an average of 117.7 videos per person, according to comScore Video Metrix, reported SFN's latest report, A Publishers Guide to New Technologies.

In September 2008, Google sites were the most popular video Web sites among all British users aged over 15 - nearly half said they have ever accessed them.

BBC sites, which only 1.4 percent of British video users access, were on the second spot, according to comScore Video Metrix. Shares of other players, including Microsoft sites, Fox Interactive media, ITV sites, and Yahoo! sites, lagged way far behind - each with only less than one percent share, according to the report, A Publishers Guide to New Technologies released by SFN and the World Association of Newspapers.
