Auto Trader to redesign Telegraph's motoring channel

Telegraph Media Group has signed a commercial deal with Auto Trader to power a search engine for its redesigned Telegraph Motoring channel on Telegraph.co.uk, Brand Republic reported Friday.

Auto Trader's search engine will be for new and used cars and motorcycles. Auto Trader is owned by Trader Media Group, jointly owned by Guardian Media Group and Apax Partners, with GMG as the majority shareholder.

Telegraph Motoring was created in-house using TMG's new content management and digital publishing system, called Escenic, according to Brand Republic.

Telegraph Motoring will offer breaking news content, along with car reviews and features. The site will also continue hosting Telegraph TV's motoring programme, "The Wheel Deal," Brand Republic reported.

The site's recent Paris Motor Show coverage "saw the most successful day to date on the motoring channel, with nearly one million page views," said Peter Hall, Motoring editor, Brand Republic reported.
