Marketing and advertising firm Titan Worldwide announced Monday that it has signed a multi-million dollar deal with UK-based digital advertising company Litelogic to provide large LED screens featuring ads on buses, Business Wire reported Monday.
Buses in New York and Chicago will be the first to offer LED “Evolution” screens equipped with GPS technology that will target specific audiences based on the location of the bus. The screens are powered by Litelogic's Litecast software platform.
The number of buses is predicted to rise from 100 to 300 by the end of year, with 200 in New York and 100 in Chicago. According to the Business Wire release, posted by Market Watch, this is the first digital advertising venture for buses in North America and the first of such a scale anywhere.
“The challenge for the team was to develop high resolution digital display screens that would not only work on the side of a various bus models, but also meet Titan's world-class performance criteria. They had to be lightweight, thin, robust, low energy, high definition, scalable, powered by no more than the available bus battery power and viewable in direct sunlight,” said Litelogic CEO James Burrows, according to Business Wire.
The project is expected to be launched across London, Canada and Ireland, MarketWatch reported nearly two weeks ago.
