U.S.-based sports television network ESPN has launched its UK-oriented Web video player site ESPN360.com, Broadband TV News reported Thursday. ESPN360.com was introduced in Europe in January 2008 as part of its expansion plan on the continent.
Content to be available will include free news coverage as well as highlights and interviews from golf, tennis, the National Football League (NFL), the Major Baseball League (MBL), the National Hockey League (NHL) and X Games.
In addition, ESPN360.com will have “premium coverage” from a thousand NHL games, the play-offs and the Stanley Cup Final as well as 200 live and on-demand football and basketball games.
According to Broadband TV News, ESPN's European sports channel NASN will be transformed to ESPN America in early 2009.
