New York-based marketing communications firm Omnicom Group announced that its net profits grew year-on-year by almost 6 percent in the third quarter of 2008 and by more than 10 percent in the first nine months, AdWeek reported Tuesday.
Profits in the third quarter totalled US$213.6 million, compared to $202 million the same time in 2007. During the first nine months of 2008, net income added up to $729 million, whereas last year, this figure was $661.9 million.
Revenue rose to $3.3 billion in the third quarter, up from $3.1 last year, according to AdWeek. During the first nine months of 2008, revenue surged by 10 percent to $9.9 billion.
Meanwhile, U.S. and global revenue rose by 4 and 11 percent in the same quarter, and by 6 and 15 percent during January-September 2008, respectively.
