Newspapers launch International Association of Sports Newspapers

Six major European and South American newspapers launched the International Association of Sports Newspapers (IASN) on Monday, AFP reported.

The IASN is a result of a partnership between France's L'Equipe, Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport, Brazil's Lance, Argentina's Olé and Spain's Mundo Deportive, published in Barcelona, and Marca, published in Madrid.

According to Marca, the organization hopes to “unify” the member publications with official bodies, to exchange information and to promote sports in an educational manner AFP reported in an article posted by Le Monde.

The IASN is affiliated with the World Association of Newspapers and will strive to assemble the “largest possible number” of titles from around the globe.
