Social networking media is booming in the United States, reaching 67 percent of the total online population, according to October 2007 data from comScore, SFN's latest report, A Publishers Guide to New Technologies, reported.
Unique user numbers were up to 121.2 million, a 16 percent increase compared with November 2006.
In the United States, 24.5 billion minutes were spent on social networking sites in October 2007, according to comScore Media Metrix.
Each user spent an average of 3.5 hours, visiting 22 times per month, while total pages viewed reached 71.4 billion that month, according to the report, A Publishers Guide to New Technologies, released by SFN and the World Association of Newspapers.
