Mobile messaging, content revenues up in Western Europe

Mobile messaging and content revenues in Western Europe will exceed €26 billion and €23 billion by 2011, respectively, according research by Analysys Research, SFN's World Digital Media Trends 2008 reported.

In 2005, mobile messaging and content revenues in Western Europe collectively accounted for €23.3 billion, of which €4.9 billion was contributed by mobile content, while €18.4 came from mobile messaging.

In 2010, according to Analysys Research, mobile messaging revenues are expected to reach €26.1 billion, up 42 percent from 2005.

Mobile content revenues, on the other hand, will boost to €234 billion, with a growth of more than 375 percent since 2005, according to the report, World Digital Media Trends 2008, released by SFN and the World Association of Newspapers.
