Guardian Professional to handle paidContent's ad sales

Guardian Professional, the Guardian Media Group's education, media and public division, will sell advertisements across paidcontent.org and paidcontent.co.uk, MediaWeek reported Tuesday.

The U.S.-based paidContent and its two sites, as well its parent company, U.S. publishing group ContentNext Media, were bought by GMG for an undisclosed sum nearly five months ago.

Content Next, which includes contentSutra.com and mocoNews.net, will be put up for sale in the future along with GMG assets, according to ContentNext Media Founder and Chief Executive Rafat Ali.

"We are looking to work closer with GMG and specifically Guardian Professional on the sales side," Ali told MediaWeek.

Ali mentioned that the Russian market is "really interesting," but that in the UK, the publisher intends to combine more of its material with GMG. In addition, Content Next Media is considering launching additional sites covering a variety of subjects like gaming, MediaWeek wrote.
