The Tampa Tribune and its sister properties, TBO.com and television station WFLA-TV, have partnered to launch a combined multimedia newsroom. Following heavy cuts, the combined newsroom will be staffed by employees from each of the three properties, and will be part of one organisation, The Tribune announced Wednesday, E&P reported.
"It's a progressive, audience-driven approach," Janet Coats, vice president of news, said in a statement. "The focus puts the audience at the center of our decision-making."
According to the company, the brand new multimedia newsroom approach "goes beyond the continuous news desk that was created in 2007." The journalists from each division will create an immediate, Web-first, newsgathering strategy, while also continuing to produce content in their traditional formats, E&P reported.
