The Teesside Evening Gazette has signed a five-figure sponsorship deal for its multimedia sports coverage, Journalism.co.uk reported Tuesday.
The first companies to sign up for the package, which will provide advertising opportunities throughout the title's print, video and blog content, are all local companies and organisations, such as Middlesbrough College.
The Gazette, owned by Trinity Mirror, covers Teesside, Middlesbrough and the North East in the United Kingdom.
The Web site now houses video featuring discussions with the paper's chief writer Eric Paylor and sports editor Phil Tallentire discuss. According to a release from the publisher, the videos already attract over 50,000 views per video, Journalism.co.uk reported.
Darren Thwaites, editor of the Gazette, said in the release that the deal is "a win-win scenario for us because it actually adds value to the content, while giving our sponsors a vary visible presence."
