iPhone generated 10% of Nov. U.S. mobile ad requests

The iPhone brought in about 10 percent of U.S. mobile ad requests last month, topping all other devices, according to AdMob's latest mobile metrics report, Media Post reported Friday.

Globally, the iPhone made up a 6.3 percent share. Ad requests from the Apple device boosted 52 percent to 359 million in November.

Worldwide ad requests, however, remained flat at 5.8 billion, partly due to a 30 percent plummet in mobile inventory in Indonesia. T-Mobile's Android-powered G1 did well last month, only a few months after its launch, and contributed 15 million requests, which represents 7 percent of all T-Mobile data traffic, Media Post reported.

WiFi is increasing as a connection method for mobile users. According to AdMob, 8 percent of ad requests in the U.S. were made over a WiFi network, up from only 3 percent in August.
