Norway-based media company Schibsted has bought a 34 percent share in Lithuanian free daily 15min from Lithuanian paid morning paper Lietuvos Rytas, Newspaper Innovation reported Friday. The move makes Schibsted the majority shareholder.
Schibsted closed its paid tabloid in the country, L.T., earlier in 2008. It bought its initial share in 15min in 2006.
15min is published in three editions, in Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipeda, and has a total circulation of more than 100,000, Newspaper Innovation reported. The free daily was launched in 2005.
