Three newspapers in western Ohio are cutting Tuesday editions due to the economic downturn, The Associated Press reported.
The new schedule for The Troy Daily News, Piqua Daily Call and The Sidney Daily News will be effective next week. The Troy will publish six days a week, with the Miami Valley Sunday News on Sundays. The Piqua and Sidney will print only five days as they don't have Sunday edition.
The move, according to Publisher Frank Beeson, will help avoid job cuts at newsroom.
The papers' combined total work force has been eliminated by 10 percent recently, according to the AP article posted on Business Week.
"Tuesdays are the weakest days for advertising revenue," Beeson said.
