Plastic Logic has signed a deal with USA Today and the Financial Times, the two first newspapers to partner for newspaper content for its eReader and eCommerce Content Store, the eReader company announced Monday.
The firm also announced it will partner with content aggregators including LibreDigital, Ingram Digital and Zinio for sales and distribution of newspapers, magazines and books.The Plastic Logic Reader, a top rival to the Amazon Kindle eReader, is about the size of an 8.5x11 inch pad of paper, and weighs less than many magazines, according to a press release from Plastic Logic.
Chief Executive of the Financial Times John Ridding said the partnership is another step for the paper to move into the digital realm.
"Digital distribution is integral to the FT's strategy as we seek to offer our customers the opportunity to consume FT content across any channel that suits them," Ridding said in a statement.
