All daily national newspapers in Ireland reported decreases in circulation for the second half of 2008, according to the latest Audit Bureau of Circulations report, Press Gazette reported.
Although the Independent News and Media-owned Irish Independent remains the best selling daily newspaper, its circulation fell year-over-year by 4 percent. The Irish Times, owned by the Irish Times Trust, saw circulation drop 3 percent, according to ABC figures.
The Irish Independent's circulation dropped to 154,610, and The Irish Times circulation fell to 115,462, according to Press Gazette.
The Irish Examiner, a national title based in Cork, saw circulation drop 6.1 percent, to 52,544, ABC data showed.
Sunday newspapers like the Sunday Business Post and tabloid Sunday World posted circulation increases of 2 percent and 0.5 percent, respectively. Irish editions of British titles are not included in the report.
