Dutch paid-for dailies declined from '96 to '05

Dutch paid-for dailies decreased in terms of circulation and number of titles from 1996 to 2005, according to World Press Trends 2006 and Cebuco HOI, SFN's New Print Products reported.

The overall circulation in the country accounted for 4.57 million in 1996. However, it had been in a decline every year. In 2005, the total circulation was only 3.91 million.

The number of paid-for titles was 38 in 1996, according to World Press Trends 2006 and Cebuco HOI, but the number had been fluctuating a bit every year. In 2005, there were 35 paid-for dailies in the Netherlands, according to the report, New Print Products, released by SFN and the World Association of Newspapers.
