Music and entertainment magazine Blender will stop publication after its April issue, but will continue with its Web site, blender.com, its owner, Alpha Media Group, announced on Thursday, The New York Times reported.
"We went as far as we could in a difficult environment," said Alpha Media spokeswoman Nora Haynes. Thirty people will be laid off as a result of the publication's closure.
Blender has been in print since 2001, focusing on music and entertainment for a young male audience. Its advertising output dropped 31 percent in 2008, to 522 pages, according to the Publishers Information Bureau, The New York Times reported.
Blender's print closure follows other magazine title closures, including Domino from Condé Nast and Country Home from Meredith.
