Livingston County Daily Press & Argus cuts staff

The Livingston County Daily Press & Argus is the latest Gannett Co. newspaper to make staff cuts, The Associated Press reported. The number is yet to be specified but will be a large portion of the paper's newsroom, including higher editorial staff.

General Manager and Executive Editor Rich Perlberg said more than 10 of a team of 95 will be laid off and will include the paper's managing editor. The cuts mark further woes for Gannett Co. which is struggling to keep doors open at a number of its publications amid the economic crisis and advertising slump.
