Handbook aims to become canonical for Jordan's journalists

Handbook aims to become canonical for Jordan's journalists

A newly published handbook for journalists in Jordan aims to be the new favourite reference tool of journalists in the country, Zawya reported.

Mohammad Atiyeh, of Abu Mahjoob Creative Productions, a group that produced the book along with USAID's Jordan Media Strengthening Programme, said he wanted the handbook to "serve as a single common stylebook for media organizations and individuals and spur a positive spirit of competition that will fuel the continual advancement of the media industry as a whole."

The handbook, which is written in both Arabic and English, includes chapters on news definitions, sources, writing styles and design. The book also contains guidelines for Web research and online journalists.
