LocalPoint Media launch national saving conglomerate Web site

U.S. national community advertising network LocalPoint Media will launch a Web site collecting preprints, coupons and savings specials on October 1, Editor & Publisher reported.

The site, called Zip2Save.com, is a product of the group's partnership with Metroland Media Group, which has a similar site in Canada, at flyerland.ca.

Zip2Save lets users search for savings using the postal, or zip, code as a search criteria, in print and online publications. LocalPoint Media, launched partly by Suburban Newspaper of America, will also sell local advertising to the site, emphasising a community focus. Advertising will be available at a number of different market levels including national, local, multi-state, state, designated market area, and county levels, according to E&P.

More than 1,000 community newspapers, totaling to a circulation of 6.4 million have joined Zip2Save.
