Family-owned Pennsylvania newspaper chain the Sample News Group, has made a bid on the now closed New Hampshire paper, the Eagle-Times of Claremont, Philly.com reported on Tuesday.
The offer is backed by the newspaper's court-appointment bankruptcy trustee and a hearing on the sale was set for today in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Manchester.
The Times closed in July leaving owner and publisher Harvey Hill short $4 million, a figure he is now willing to waive to support the sale.
